Don't Pay for Articles!

If you find an article on the web, but the website asks you to pay to see the article, use the library to get the full text instead of paying for the article. The library subscribes to thousands of journals, and we can ask other libraries to share articles from journals we don't subscribe to.

What to do?

1. Paste the article's title into the 1Search box.

2. Using quotes around the title can help you find the article faster. It also may help to use the advanced search option (click the down arrow) and choose Title.

3. For the most comprehensive search choose to Expand My Results. This will include articles you can get immediately, and articles you can request from other libraries.

4. If you want to limit to items you can get digitally immediately, choose to Show only: Full Text Online.

5. Use the tabs under your article's title in 1Search to get the text.  If the article is not available immediately (View Online), use Availability and Request options to request the article.

6. If the article isn't available via 1Search, use our interlibrary loan system to request it.  Make sure that you are logged in with our ONID.
